Our frequently asked questions

Service & Process

Chiptuning is a software optimization of the engine control unit (ECU). We adjust parameters like boost, ignition timing, and fuel delivery within safe limits for your exact vehicle so power and drivability improve without changing hardware.

Most standard ECU optimizations take about 2 to 4 hours, including diagnostics and validation. More complex vehicles or extra checks can require additional time.

Two cars with the same engine can still behave differently due to tolerances, mileage, fuel quality, and software versions. Dyno-based custom calibration verifies safe air-fuel ratios and stable performance for your specific car.

Typical benefits include stronger torque, better acceleration, and smoother power delivery. In some setups, fuel efficiency can also improve when driving style stays similar.

Legal, Warranty & Insurance

We provide a warranty on the tuning software itself and on the work performed. If an issue is related to our calibration, we inspect and correct it according to our warranty terms.

Manufacturer warranty policies differ by brand and market. Any modification can affect warranty coverage for related components, so we recommend checking your manufacturer policy before tuning.

In many regions, performance changes should be declared to your insurer. We recommend informing your insurer after tuning so your policy remains accurate and valid.

Dealer software updates can overwrite tuned software. If this happens, we can usually restore your tuned file after checking compatibility with the new software version.

Technical & Reliability

A properly engineered tune that respects hardware limits is designed for reliability. Risk usually comes from overly aggressive or generic files without correct diagnostics and validation.

Chiptuning recalibrates multiple ECU strategies directly and precisely for the full operating range. A power box usually alters sensor signals externally, which is simpler but typically less comprehensive and less refined.

In most cases your appointment is completed the same day. We prioritize proper testing and reliability checks over rushing the process.
